Blitz Task Force Jobs
Building / Logistics-
Plan for ingress/ egress to storage. Plan for storage of large/bulky items.
Plan placement/ load out of storage trailers Coordinate with other
committees that overlap into the purview of logistics. Select plans/designs,
work on cost containment issues, plan location of all services for blitz
build.
Communications– Determine the
communication of staff and crew leaders and obtaining the means to do so.
First Aid– Responsible for
obtaining First Aid qualified volunteers and scheduling them throughout the
week.
Food Services– In charge of
obtaining and serving food for and during the build.
Habitation Celebration–
Service of the completion of the build to celebrate and give thanks.
Housing / Lodging–
Responsible for arrangements for out of town volunteers.
Neighborhood Involvement–
Responsible for making sure that the already existing neighborhood is aware
of activities throughout the duration of the build.
Office Administration–
Responsible for helping maintain the functions of the office before and
during the build.
Photography– Responsible for
making sure that significant events of the build are captured.
Sanitation– Responsible for
maintaining the upkeep of the blitz build.
Scheduling– Responsible for
filling in the appropriate people to perform the necessary tasks on any
given build day.
Open House– In charge of
hosting an event that recognizes corporate donors, house sponsors, and
individual donors to thank them for their participation.
Transportation– Responsible
for making sure volunteers have a safe parking and transportation to the
site of the blitz.
Youth Groups – Working with
different youth groups that will be involved in the build.
Site Selection – Acquire real
estate for future development.
Church Relations – To
delegate to member churches/synagogues which have shown potential Habitat
involvement; to encourage members in ways to approach these prospects with
fundraising, partnership and Covenant Church Program incentives.
Development – To formulate
and work from a plan to guide and organize activities toward accomplishing
God’s work; brainstorm and explore new contacts and funding methods to
supplement existing methods.
Family Selection/Partnership
– To make recommendations for homeownership to the Habitat board of
directors; to assign Volunteer Partners to new families; to train volunteer
partners to be nurturers and encouragers as outlined in the Habitat
guidelines; as a support resource for new Homeowners.
Volunteer – To organize
volunteer recruitment; to develop, oversee and evaluate the policies which
affect the volunteers and employees of Lubbock Habitat for Humanity; to
recognize/honor volunteers. |
